It took a while, but using a bit of code, and a lot of use of Transfermarkt, I was able to whittle down a list of over 2500 players into a useable list of 56 who are all good enough and eligible to play football in England upon the expiry of their contract this year.

One or two players have optional extra years in their deals, but they have not yet been taken up as far as we know.

All of the players in the table are over the age of 23, as this is when the training compensation agreement ends, and a player of 24 or over is deemed to be old enough that a payment doesn’t have to be made on their development any more. This can be very important to a lower budget club.

All of the players are in Bands 1-5, so they have established themselves at a decent level.

The details of the player, their best role and ranking are on there, along with their GBE Status.

There are 56 players in total, 3 from Band 1, 7 from Band 2, 7 from Band 3, 11 from Band 4 and 28 from Band 5.

The players are across all roles and positions.

The information is correct as of writing at 10th June 2025, but, obviously, things move quickly in the free agent market so deals may be done in some cases that we are unaware of at this time.
