Andy Watson: Research that many of you will have seen me produce over the last month or so shows that Scandinavia has become a hot market for UK clubs to shop from over the last couple of years, especially since English clubs have been allowed to use ESC slots to sign non-GBE qualifying players.

Scottish clubs have been using the Scandinavian market regularly as well, for managers as well as footballers, and the minor leagues in the region are attractive for a number of reasons.

Scandinavians are always well thought of as good settlers in the UK. They often speak fluent English prior to arrival, and the UK climate is of no problem to them as well.

Martin Haddow is a great person to report from these minor leagues, and he has done a great deep dive into them, providing all the information required for any recruitment team who is looking into this area.
