Martin Haddow gives us the lowdown on all 12 Danish Superliga teams

Andy Watson: Denmark is the breakout star of the ESC era. What do I mean by this?

When we look at the data for which nations have sold the highest number of players to England since ESC became a thing in 2023, Denmark sit top of the list for ESC transfers in January.

Part of this is because of the standing of Denmark in Band 4, and the combination of quality and wide-spread high standard of English speaking across the country too. This is an eco-system ripe for recruitment for teams ranging from the top of the Premier League, who may want the early developing starlets, down to the bottom of the Championship, taking the experienced, impact ready players in the bottom half of the Superliga.

Our Scandinavian correspondent, Martin Haddow, takes us into the Superliga and fills us in on the players to watch.

Santa has left the building, tired and bewildered but still covered in tinsel and spilled milk.

At this stage the Danish Superliga usually begins to reveal its truths and its falsehoods.

The title contenders settle in, draw swords and go at it, the developmental clubs expose their plans,or,the holes in them and the relegation candidates try and jump over the trapdoor.

This season, however, has been a tad more disruptive.

AGF lead with quiet authority. Midtjylland are brilliant but imperfection follows them around.

FC Copenhagen feel unfinished, and, beneath them, a collection of clubs that jump between promise to….not promise. Im going to use a swear word here, this league is RUDDY marvellous.
What follows is a club-by-club portrait of the teams in the Danish top flight at its midpoint.

We will look at systems, identity, tactical strengths and weaknesses.

Who is still in the race for the Danish cup, Champion/European hopefuls and the relegation candidates.

There might be some scout reports on the individuals shaping, or certainly threatening to reshape the narrative.
