Georgian Erovnuli Liga: Who are the talents and why do they get a work permit?
Guest writer Joshua Young informs us of what is happening in the Georgian domestic game
Andy Watson: I am really pleased to present this special piece on the Georgian league from Joshua Young.
The reason why leagues like the Erovnuli Liga are still important despite being a Band 6 league is that there are ESC slots still open for players who have played some kind of continental competition, or have played either youth international football or perhaps the UEFA Youth League.
Joshua has done a really great job of using the GBE Expert Hub resources to understand this, and, as you will read in this piece, he is able to identify the talent in this Band 6 league and then use his knowledge of ESC to recommend some players to English, and Scottish (who do not need ESC), clubs.
