ESC Asia & ESC Africa
A new session and a potential new Substack offering
Hi all.
This is a free post on the GBE Expert Hub platform, and, forgive me, but it is an information piece promoting a couple of new things.
The reason that you are receiving this is because, being part of the GBE Expert Hub subscriber list, there is something here that may interest you. Obviously, feel free to ignore if this is not the case.
Firstly, I hope that you are enjoying the content that is coming out on the platform. We continue to add new writers to cover certain specialisms within the world of GBE and ESC, and with the end of the season within sight, we will begin to focus more on the summer window and some players that may be interesting to UK clubs who will need a work permit.
ESC Asia
Speaking of which, the Asian market is one that is very much of interest to us this summer.
We have seen the success of Japanese and South Korean players, especially in the Championship, of late, but I think that there is also room to expand out of these leagues.
Articles that we have published by the likes of Robin Renganathan has demonstrated that there are interesting clubs, players, and prospects in other leagues of Asia, and they are very much underutilized and, perhaps, misunderstood.
My aim is to bring together English clubs and representation with Asian players, clubs, and representation, to provide those bridges and explain where the UK immigration rules in football sit with regard to the Asian market.
The event will follow a similar format to ESC Africa recently. It will be on May 13th, from 1930 UK time, and should last 90 minutes. There will be opportunity to ask any questions of myself during and after the session, and there will be four guests who will add knowledge and flavour for the Asian market as well.
Tickets are now available for subscribers at £25 which lasts until 21st April, from which point they will be £40.
Tickets are available to book via this link: ESC Asia
ESC Africa
There will have been a few people who receive this who will have been on ESC Africa, but for those who weren't, the recording is still available.
If you want to see it, there is a link for pay for access here.
Anyhow, the feedback from the event has been really positive.
So much so that ESC Africa is going to become a standalone product.
The exact offer is still being worked out, but there will be a paid Substack offering similar to this one, and a dedicated ESC Africa podcast on a monthly basis.
There is much going on between now and the end of the season.
If there is anything that you need that we aren't covering then please get in touch with me directly.
Have a great April!
Andy Watson
