Andy Watson: This is probably the most important Band 2 Bulletin piece that we have published so far, so if you don’t usually bother reading them I highly suggest that you do so on this occasion.

Craig Bradley has put together an XI of players who should be on EFL shortlists and have their contracts expiring in the summer of 2026, so this is an exceptionally timely email with only six months left on their current deails. These names need to be going into systems and notebooks.

I also just wanted to add, whilst I have your attention, that January is going to be huge on the GBE Expert Hub, we will have lots of January Recruitment Dossiers from all kinds of global markets, we will keep you updated with what is happening from a GBE/ESC perspective in the window, and I have the ESC slots information for each club available for purchase as well.

Most of these players in this report are GBE eligible, but some are ESC only, so it is helpful to know which clubs have those slots available. Get in touch for more information on this resource.

PSV have gone a long way to sealing their defence of the Eredivisie title before the clubs paused for the winter break by not dropping a point during December whilst at the same time Feyenoord’s performance levels have dropped - points dropped in ‘De Klassiker’ defeat to Ajax and the 1-1 draw with Twente have seen Robin Van Persie come under scrutiny with there now being an eleven point gap between the Rotterdam club and PSV.

Fred Grim has managed to stop some of the bleeding at Ajax, gaining ten points from a possible twelve during the month. The gap between them and Feyenoord is now five points. Ajax’s month ended with the appointment of Jordi Cruyff as the club’s new technical director.

Beyond the Big 3, December saw unbeaten months for NEC Nijmegen, who remain fully in the conversation for a Champions League finish. FC Twente. And possibly most importantly Telstar who are no longer in the relegation zone following draws with Heracles and NEC Nijmegen plus an away victory at bottom of the table NAC Breda.
