Aaron Keller (2004) - LWB/LW - Ulm (on loan from Unterhaching) - 2.Bundesliga (Band 4) - Contract Expiry: 2026
Technically gifted young player who can play anywhere down the wing with just one year left on his contract. Should Championship clubs take note?
The second tier in Germany is an interesting market. In terms of quality, it is ranked by Opta Analyst, and by The GBE Expert Hub, as lesser than the EFL Championship, but better than EFL League One, so a good player from this league should definitely be of interest to a wide range of clubs in the EFL.
Aaron Keller is one such player. Though our data wouldn’t rate him as one of the top individuals in the league in his wing back role, he has been playing for a relegation struggler, and he has been versatile as well, which can sometimes hurt a player’s data role score for a particuar role.
As you will read from his report, Keller has a lot of positives in his game which could make him suitable for the EFL. His key skills are technical, but he can run and is durable, which, if you are playing in a wing back role, is the most important attribute that you can have.
Our head of scouting
believes that Keller would be a good option to sign for a club above his current ability level, EFL Championship clubs should be taking a keen interest, with the idea of a potential further loan to sharpen up some skills and physique. He is a Swiss U21 international now as well, so his talent is on the radar at national level, despite playing outside of top tier clubs.James Doolan wrote the report on Keller, who celebrates his birthday today! Happy 21st Aaron.
